25 New Freelance Writing and Editing Jobs

by Anne Wayman on June 14th, 2005

25 New Freelance Writing and Editing Jobs: I posted 25 new freelance jobs for writers and editors yesterday. Normally I post a blog about those jobs on the same day, but we had a network glitch. Some of the comments went missing too, and I don’t think we’ll get them back. I do have them on my machine since they are also emailed to me, so I may be able to go back and recreate them, but not today.

In our Q&A column, a writer asks about typical responses from editors. It’s hard to talk about typical responses; like the rest of us, editors are people and how they handle their business varies tremendously. On the whole, however, I’ve found most editors are reasonable to deal with and work hard to keep track of what can be overwhelming work. Just be sure, when you query, you’re as clear as you can possibly be. And if you’re querying by email, I suggest you keep the subject line the same through-out the whole transaction.

Write well and often.
