Google Helps Me With Spelling
I can’t be the only one who uses google when I get confused about spelling. And I get confused often ‘ in fact, my spelling is highly creative.
I don’t remember when, but a while back google began to offer alternatives when I enter a creatively spelled search term. For example, I just wanted to use the word ‘journaled.’ Word doesn’t like it at all and offers only the present tense. But I was talking about a journal that I wrote sometime in the past. (It’s probably some pluperfect use or other arcane grammar term that I simply refuse to learn.) So I put journaled into google and it confirmed that spelling.
Is google the last word when it comes to spelling? Of course not! But it’s a handy, quick tool when you’re stuck.

I use to Google to check my spelling too! Unfortunately, it sometimes confirms mis-spellings as well if there are other likeminded people out there. So, to double check, I either type "define:WORD" into the Google search box or look up the word in Dictionary.com.
