Thinking About Blogs
In the search to drive traffic to this blog Ive been using Blog Explosion. To get viewers Ive got to surf other members blogs. Its a trip. Ive found a bunch of blogs I really like and a ton I think are dreck.
The blogs I like are written by writers who have an understanding of the audience they are trying to reach. I dont know how many of them have gone so far as to identify their ideal reader, but they certainly have a reader in mind.
For example, the ideal reader for this blog is a person who wants to become a freelance writer or who has gotten a start and wants to improve both their income and their writing.
Who is your ideal reader?
I’ve written an article on this subject, called Freelance Writers and Blogs.
Write well and often.

I usually have myself in mind when I’m writing in my blog - in the sense that, if I was browsing the net - would I really want to read this?
So, I *sort of* do have an idea of the type of person I’m writing to - even though that type of person is essentially, me. :-)
