4th of July - Speaking of Rough Drafts!
I ran Declaration of Independence into Google and came up with a link to http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/document/index.htm and sure enough, theres the text always worth reading imo.
Down at the bottom of the page is a link to the original rough draft! Look at all the cross-outs and corrections! Theres even a translation so you can actually read what was changed.
Somehow, as a freelance writer, I am reassured by this. Of course, much of my editing is done on computer my handwriting is impossible. When I do edit on paper, and I do, my manuscripts look like this.
Isnt it great to know the process is, well, ubiquitous?
Write well and often.

Happy 4th of July!
I am a Nigerian in Nigeria with more American friends than Nigerian friends.
The agonies and ironies of the present day USA are worse than the nightmares of the American civil war and even worse than the sorrows of the slave plantations. It is safer to live in Iraq than to live in many crime-prone zones in America. The crime related deaths in America every year are more than the deaths in Iraq since 2003 to date.
This is not the dream of the founding fathers.
The American Dream is becoming the American nightmare.

Hello in Nigeria!
What’s your source on the crime stats? My hunch is you’re right, but I’d like to confirm.
Keep an eye on http://www.whengrandmothers… - another blog I’m working on… only test content at the moment, but, well, you may like it. Stay in touch.
