The Writers Resume
One of the more frequent questions I get from freelancers is How do I do a writing resume? The first thing I point out is that editors and publishers dont want a resume as such; they are much more interested in your writing credits.
They want to see what kind of writing youve done, and where youve been published. This information lets them tell if youre likely to be able to write in their style and with the kind of information they want.
So I dont use a resume; instead I call mine Writing Credits. On my website, I cheat and title the page and the headline Writing Credits/Resume so the search engines can pick it up either way.
I categorize my writing experience and put the kind of writing I want to do the most of on top. I include the title, the publisher and the date published. When there is a weblink, I include that too.
Yes, I believe every writer needs a website; read why here.
And if you want to see my Credit list, its here.
Write well and often.
