A Book Wants Me To Write It.

by Anne Wayman on September 1st, 2005

I keep getting nudged by Spirit or my unconscious to write a particular book. I know what it’s about; I know the initial audience and I may have a method or pattern or outline of sorts. But I’m having trouble focusing on it.

This morning it dawned on me I ought to follow my own advice, and develop a 10 word purpose for it. Ugh! Sometimes taking my own advice is tough. I’ve got the purpose beaten down to 12 words… and I know there’s more work to be done to have the clarity I need to actually write it.

Also rattling ‘round in my brain is the thought that this book may need to be collaboration. So after weeks and weeks of procrastination, I finally emailed the person I have in mind. It wasn’t a very clear email since I’m still muddied about the book, but I think it was clear enough to start a dialog.

Creativity is lovely, and sometimes it’s just plain hard.

Write well and often,
