OCR Scanning Tech Can Be Great
I have an agent interested in a book I wrote way back in 1987 on a typewriter! The typewriter was electric I think it was self-correcting, but Im not sure. Obviously, I dont have the file on computer.
Several years ago I acquired, along with a printer, a program called Iris Pro. Of course, my version is 6 and theyre up to 10 now, but I decided to try it. I have a newer printer and a newer version of Word, too but it seems to be working ok. A bit klugey, but better, I think, then typing the whole manuscript in.
I say I think, because there are three or four steps per page, and the book does need a lot of rewriting. In fact, Im sort of amazed it ever got published. But it did and while the writing is, well, not as good as Id like it today, the ideas are good ones.
The book needs some reorganization and some expansion by using Words headings Ill be able to re-develop the table of contents I think this is worth doing this way Ill keep you posted.
Write well and often,
