The Soul of Money - A Great Book for Writers
Not all the books I recommend are about writing. The Soul of Money by Lynn Twist is a book that is transforming my own relationship with money. Or maybe a better way to say it would be, it’s expanding my understanding of my money, and how money works and can work in the world.
Twist who for years raised money for the Hunger Project, believes we should start thinking in terms of sufficiency. She believes, as I do now, that there truly is enough for everyone on the planet, enough food, enough housing, enough creativity, and yes, enough money. The problem is we don’t see our world and ourselves that way. She draws on examples from her fund raising, which range from consulting with the top women executives at Microsoft, to the Achuar tribe deep in the Amazon rainforest (who until recently didn’t even have a concept of money). Using these and many more examples she demonstrates how we all possess within exactly what we need to be at peace with ourselves and our money.
I recommend this book for every writer.
