I have no idea how to keep up with blogs – or lots of other things, come to think of it. Somehow, until today, I’ve missed freelance.wurk.net and it’s run by Alicia Sparks – we’re on a couple of mailing lists together so there’s really no excuse.
She does a great job keeping writers apprised of […]

I don’t consider myself a “real” researcher. You probably wouldn’t want to hire me to do academic research or anything close to that. On the other hand, I often need to look up facts, definitions, proper spelling of names, exact titles of books… all sorts of things.
I generally google. I’ll start with a key word […]

Wow… 68 new freelance writing jobs… the holiday slow-down didn’t last long!
For who knows what reason, I was thinking about looking for writing jobs before the ‘net. What I remember is that it was way more difficult. It meant combing the Sunday papers of large cities, passing out dozens of business cards all the time […]

Absolute Write had a major service outage – stories vary, but whatever happened, it’s good to know this well respected, longtime site for writers is back on line. Even their forum is restored in the form of a “Refugee Camp.”

Only 43 new freelance writing jobs today… suspect the low number is because of Memorial Day… a U.S. 3 or 4 day weekend. But, there was a time I struggled to get 10 or so jobs posted, so there you have it.

Recently, someone who is pretty well established asked how and when to increase rates for existing clients. There were, as usual, several good suggestions – each quite different, reflecting a variety of successful approaches.

There are 63 new freelance writing and editing jobs here. Go get ‘em.
The job or gig market for freelance writers and editors seems really strong these days… there are even a few writers posting for help because they’ve got too much on their plate. I’m not quite in that position, but I look forward to […]

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I’m a big believer in Writer’s Websites. I have more than one – I promote myself as a writer at www.annewayman.com and I offer articles, ebooks, an affiliate program and more for freelance writers at www.aboutfreelancewriting.com.
The problem with websites is they need maintenance. I […]

Just posted 67 brand new freelance writing jobs.
MeidaBistro had double handfuls of unpaid intern jobs - I hired an unpaid intern once, when I was editing a newspaper for seniors. She was great for awhile, then sort of drifted off. I never felt quite right about not paying her, but I couldn’t get managment to […]
