Thank God For Self-Stick Stamps

by Anne Wayman on June 6th, 2006

The first time I used self-stick postage stamps was in 1989 in the Kingdom of Tonga… I think the stamp in question was shaped and colored like a banana. Great idea I thought wondering why we didn’t have self-stick stamps in the States.

I just finished getting a mailing together of about 500 pieces. No, I didn’t have to do it alone and yes, we used self-stick stamps. Much easier than the messy sponges, paper towels and wet tables. (We did get the table pretty wet sealing the envelopes because I wasn’t willing to pay for self-stick there.) I have no idea when the US Post Office made the leap, but I’m grateful.

What has this got to do with freelance writing? Darned if I know, unless it’s a demonstration that you can turn almost anything into a writing topic.

Write well and often,
