Money and Marketing - 31 Days to Better Freelance Writing - Day 1
Here we go… starting with two tips from Lori Widmer who sent them in via email just before she fixed dinner.
- Stop chasing the money! Instead of trying to reach a target amount of money per month, try reaching a target number of clients. If you resolve to gain one new client per month, he money will follow.
- Contact at least seven current clients and seven potential clients per day. If you take the time to remind the clients that you’re there, you’ll be rewarded with projects.
Chasing clients instead of money makes a whole lot of sense to me… although I don’t know that I’ve ever tried to get in touch with seven current and seven potential clients in a single day… but I get the point, and I suspect Lori would agree that doing this with some consistency is the best way to go about it.
Lori has her own website and her very own blog called Words On the Page. Thanks Lori.
Now, the rest of you - add tips in comments and I’ll bring ‘em up into each day’s blog. What could be easier!
Write well and often,

Yes, yes, I have a question. Actually, it’s a “call for information,” I suppose, haha.
TIME MANAGEMENT TIPS - How can we master this as freelance writers working from home? I’m the kind of writer/person who will work around the clock to get done what needs to be done, and in the time in which it needs to be done. However, that doesn’t exactly sit well with my personal relationships, the cleanliness of the litter box, the groceries (or lack thereof) in my fridge…
