Bloggings and Writing for Free - 31 Days to Better Freelance Writing - Day 8
Lori Widmer, blogger at Words on a Page offers two more tips:
- Blog it! Want to write for the fashion industry? Start your own blog! It
will give you the discipline to really research the market, plus it will
serve as an online “sample” of how you can handle the subject matter. - NEVER work for free, unless you’re volunteering for a charity.
Re blogging – you can also use your blog to promote your marketing site.
Re never working for free… some disagree, but it’s so easy to give away your talent; you do deserve to get paid!

Eh, I agree to the “never working for free” to a point. For example, I would NEVER write web content or give copywriting services for free - but, I do write monthly for one nonprofit women’s ezine and weekly for an awesome music mag - both for free. Simply because I love them =)
