The Golden Pencil: The Freelance Writer’s Resource

Grist for the Freelance Writer’s Mill

by Anne Wayman on July 8th, 2006

They tell me that the more posting you do, the more likely your blog is to get popular… or something like that. Anyway, I decided that, in addition to the 31 Days to Better Freelancing Project, I’d post at one more something, for a minimum of two posts a day in July. I want to see what, if anything, happens to the traffic.

So here we are on July 8, a Saturday… in fact the second Saturday of July which is significant to me because I lead a committee that’s putting on a conference and we meet on second Saturday’s.

But the conference, the planning, the tracking, etc. have nothing at all to do with writing and frankly I don’t have much to say about freelancing after the meeting. I do know that the whole putting-together-conference-experience will, sometime, show up in my writing… other than here. One of the joys of freelance writing is that nothing is wasted; every single thing we do or experience is grist for the writer’s mill, and often shows up in surprising ways, down the road.

Meanwhile…

Write well and often,
