Break Writing Into Small Pieces - 31 Days of Freelance Writing Tips - Day 28

by Anne Wayman on July 28th, 2006

calendarWhen tackling a big project like a long article or a book, focus on breaking it into smaller pieces. Instead of sitting down to write a 2500-word article, sit down to write four subsections and then add an intro, conclusion, and transitions.

When it comes to books, break it into chapters and then approach each chapter as several smaller sections. Even if the finished product won’t have headings or subheadings, there’s no reason you can’t use them while you’re writing.

This great tip is from Kristen King who has four websites:

  1. www.kristenkingfreelancing.com
  2. www.editingforeveryone.com
  3. www.inkthinker.blogspot.com
  4. www.notes-in-the-margin.com

Thanks Kristen, again.
