Writing For The Holidays – It’s Almost Too Late!

by Anne Wayman on August 9th, 2006

Remember those wonderful ideas you had for writing articles about Christmas, Hanukah, and other end-of-the-year holidays? Now is the time to submit them, particularly to consumer magazines. In fact, it’s almost too late. The majors lock those issues down five or six months before the events.

If you’re aiming a bit lower down the magazine food chain, get those article in by the end of this month or the beginning of next. You might even have time to submit Halloween articles to this group.

Local markets, of course, want submissions closer to the date, particularly if they feature local events and reflections.
