Balancing Writing Clients and Life

by Anne Wayman on October 9th, 2006

goat danceThis morning was one of those crazy-making mornings. I owed one client two blog entries, had two phone calls with clients scheduled, needed to get the jobs posted, the newsletter sent and make a phone call regarding a volunteer committee I’m on.

The committee call was scheduled for 7:30; one client was scheduled for 9 and I knew the second client would call somewhere in there… seems like everyone I’m dealing with is on the east coast.

Sure enough, a client called while I was handling the committee business. We played phone tag a couple of times and I was keeping a sharp eye on the clock when we did connect because 9 was sneaking up fast!

I actually got it all done! Normally I do better planning than this… I try to deal with client calls on separate days but it just didn’t work out that way today.

Whew. A real goat dance! Every one is happy, including me. Now I’m going to sit down and have breakfast – away from the computer.

Write well and often,

Anne Wayman

    Now - take a deep breath…..

    Some days are like that!

I love the Ashleigh Brilliant cartoon showing a whole series of clocks “walking” towards the viewer, with the caption “I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once!”
