Whine Turned to Gratitude
This morning is “one of those mornings.” It’s gloomy and chilly here in San Diego. (Okay, I know I’m a weather wuss, but it’s grey and it’s just cool enough to require a sweatshirt with my shorts.)
I’ve got a mild headache – probably allergy stuff. San Diego has more allergens floating around than most places, and fall seems to fell me often. So I’m low energy at the moment.
I’ve got two writing projects and at the moment I don’t want to do either. You know, HRUMPH!
And as I was thinking about all my complaints I suddenly was blessed with gratitude. I mean I’m not rushing around getting dressed to get to an office. I don’t have to face a commute – I’m already at work, right here in my own home. I can control my time, and today it probably will look like write for a couple of hours, maybe take a walk, generate a contract and email it and a long, lovely nap.
I mean what could be better? Just letting the gratitude wash over me is increasing my energy. Knowing I’m earning my living as a freelance writer is one of those things I often take for granted. Today I’m struck with the miracle of it all.
Amazing what a shift in attitude will do.
Write well and often,

Don’t you love finding the silver lining in the cloud? ;)
Personally, I love rainy, gloomy days - I write better. So, I wish the sun would quit popping in and out here and just stay hidden.

I know the feeling! It really is a miracle to be able to do what you love. :o)

Alicia - I love the differences between people… I actually write better when the sun is shining.
Julia - glad you recognize the feeling. I actually believe every single person on the planet can find work they love…

Well, just my luck it decided to be 29 degrees this morning (high for today estimated at 51) and NOT A CLOUD IN SIGHT.
That’s MY Friday the 13th luck, haha.
