More Examples Of Goat Dancing

by Anne Wayman on October 15th, 2006

goat danceAt least one person in our forum had real goat dancing type problems on Friday the 13th. On the other hand, I had a great day. I secured nine months of base income and had a good session with my tax person. It wasn’t until Saturday that my goat dance begun.

  • First, I couldn’t get my Quicken to open - well, that’s not true; it simply couldn’t find any files. It insisted I was a new user. I tried restoring from backups, both on my computer and on my cd/dvd drive thingie and it insisted it couldn’t see the disk. I could see the files on the cd, but they wouldn’t open either. I decided not to panic and sure enough, this morning everything works like a charm… go figure.
  • Next, I went to a meeting and was annoyed because I couldn’t part exactly where I wanted. For reasons totally obscure to me I left the meeting early, and after standing in the rain waiting to cross the street, discovered my right rear tire was going flat – one of four brand-new, driven-on-less-than-3-week-old tires! If I’d gotten to park where I wanted I never would have spotted the problem. I was, however, able to drive to the tire store and it only took about an hour(!) for them to give me a brand new tire for free.

Not being one to push the river, when I got home turned off the computer and spent the rainy afternoon reading New Yorker magazine.

Write well and often,

My darling Anne, you wouldn’t happen to be talking about me, now would you? ;) Ha! I didn’t post any this weekend because of it.

I’m sorry about your Quicken and tire troubles, but the bright side is that you got a new tire for free - free is always good.

And your Saturday afternoon sounds splendid!

Saturday was delightful and my Quicken has decided to work again… I may have tricked it by backing up twice ;)
