I Braved The Commute This Morning!

by Anne Wayman on November 6th, 2006

goat danceI am so spoiled!

Against my better judgment I made an appointment for 8:30 this morning – one that required me to travel north on Interstate 805, one of San Diego’s commuting corridors. According to Google maps, the office I was headed for is only about 12 miles from my house, but I knew it was likely to be slow at that time. I left at 8, feeling rushed because I really didn’t do my normal morning routine.

When I hit the on-ramp, I figured I was in real trouble… stop and go, stop and go as I wormed my way into a middle lane. Much to my surprise, about a mile and a half along, traffic thinned so we all moved along at a good clip… for about five mile. Then darn close to grid lock for the rest of the trip, including getting off the freeway and to my destination.

It’s good for me to get stuck in traffic once in a while – like maybe twice a year max. Once it’s all over I get truly grateful I get to work at home.

Write well and often,
