I’m Sure I’m Not The Only One
I’m sure I’m not the only one who can hardly wait for this election to be over. I am so tired of hate-filled talk radio, attack ads, stacks of mail I won’t even look at and robo-calls. How did we ever pass the do-not-call-list without including politicians?
And I don’t even have a TV so I’m missing much of the advertising - thank goodness!
I believe in our representative form of government; I try to believe my vote and yours does count; I’ve got fingers and toes crossed about electronic voting machines, and yes, I have a political position. If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you probably can guess which way I lean.
What I really wish is we could somehow figure out a way to have meaningful debates between candidates over a relatively short period of time, but so far, none of TPTB (The Powers That Be) have called me and asked me how things should be done. If they did, I’d tell ‘em, but it hasn’t happened yet.
If you haven’t voted yet by absentee ballot, by all means get to your polls tomorrow and vote, even if you’re as tired of all this campaigning as I am.

I agree. I’m tired of coming home to see that I have 5 messages, getting my hopes up that one of them is a response to one of my many pleas for work only to hear a bunch of political robots telling me how bad the other guy is.

I’ve started trying to screen calls, but the robocalls come from all over… it’s a real pain, particularly since I voted absentee… but the end is in site for a couple of years anyway.
