Recreation Results
Last Thursday I was muttering that I felt stale and promised to take most of Friday off. I did and took my grandkids (that’s Emily and Ben in this year’s Halloween costumes) to Balboa Park. We ate hot dogs, spent hours at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, first in what I call the gadget center, then in the virtual reality play area. Next we visited Comet Impact and got thoroughly shaken up… at least I did. We ended the trip with Deep Sea at the Imax Theater.
When I got home I mostly collapsed, which is, of course, one of the great things about being a grandparent – we earn the right to hand the kids back.
Yesterday I took, mostly, what a friend of mine calls a “pajama day.” For me this means slopping around reading novels… great down time. Of course I did visit three open houses and had coffee with a friend, but mostly I slopped around. It felt great and today I feel darn close to wonderful.
In fact, I’m ready to write. There is great benefit to taking care of ourselves.
Write well and often,
