Editing My Own Work Can Get Boring!

by Anne Wayman on April 23rd, 2007

I’m working on an ebook of about 30 pages that I’ll use in promoting some of my services. It seems like I’ve been working on this forever. In truth, it’s just a couple of weeks. And I’m very close to turning it over to my editor/copy editor.

I can hardly wait! Right now I’m so tired of this particular piece of writing I’m actually having trouble making the corrections I scribbled on my last reading. Every one makes the manuscript better or corrects some error but…

I’m bored almost to tears!

Does this mean the work is no good or the eventual readers will be put to sleep? I don’t think so. But I’ve not only written it, I’ve edited it umpteen times so far. I can almost recite the darn thing… which is why I’m so grateful for good editors… they see things I can’t.

Write well and often,

Completely understandable, Anne. I’m that way with my book (that i’ve had since ‘03). I am sick-to-death of working on the stupid thing. I am [thisclose]to hiring an editor/proofreader, lol.

Brick, if it takes hiring someone to finish it, I say do it… or work with a coach for a couple of sessions to get it done.
