Define Your Ideal Client
Just as it makes sense to define your ideal reader, it also makes sense to define your ideal client. Although it’s tempting to think you can write for anyone, it’s simply not true. For example, I have absolutely no experience with screen writing. Sure, it’s a learnable skill, but I’m not even interested in it.
Then there’s the fact I don’t want to work for just anyone. Sure, I know how to do search optimization, but I find it boring even on my own web pages, let alone doing it for someone else. I also know a bit about copy writing, but because I don’t enjoy it, copywriting gigs aren’t a good match for me.
Simply put, I want to help people get their dreams into words – people who want to present their new solution to an old problem, probably in a book, are the clients I want.
What kind of client do you want?

I preach the concept of picking your ideal clients and chasing them. Sadly, I’ve been a little overwhelmed by new business to take my own medicine.
