Consider Writing Your Own Newsletter
If you’ve got a website, and if you don’t you should, consider a newsletter as a way to stay in touch with your writing and editing clients.
An online newsletter is actually pretty simple. You need a service that will help you gather emails and will actually send the newsletter for you. I use GetReponse.com, but there are other outfits. I pay a monthly fee – about $18 and I can have unlimited subscribers and unlimited lists. Although it can take a bit of effort to understand how to set everything up, once you’ve done that it’s easy-breezy.
Then you have to decide how often you want to communicate with your clients. I suggest at least once a month. Write an article that would be useful to them – it doesn’t have to be long.
Newsletters are great ways to stay in touch with clients, and if you add a subscription box to your website you’ll find they can be great ways to generate new clients as well.
Write well and often,

I will look into this Anne as writing a newsletter is something I haven’t made a priority. I can understand its usefulness particularly for bringing in new clients.

Anne,
I have recently written a book, “How to Publish Your Newsletter,” that might be of interest to your readers. You can read a short review of it here: http://www.hamilton.edu/magazine/2007/spring/bookshelf.html Let me know if you would be interested in reviewing it for your blog and I’ll arrange for you to receive a review copy.
