Good Book Ideas Take Time To Develop
Some of you know I’m developing a book and a class called Writing With Vision. I’ve scheduled regular writing time for this project but this morning I didn’t do much writing. Instead, I sort of stumbled into some new information or insights I want to present in the introduction.
So I started to write and then I realized that although I’m sure I’m on the right track, that new insight needs some time to yeast or gel in my mind. Since part of this project is a book, I wrote an article for Writing With Vision called Good Book Ideas Take Time To Develop.

I am only 12 but I know exACTLY (!!!) what you’re talking about! I know i have some good book ideas that would be a totally-awesome best selling novel for young teens, but the problem is, I often get side tracked &/or tell myself it’s not a good idea. So my advice is short, sweet, and simple. 1) Don’t put yourself down! If you want to do it, then just do it! 2) Motivate yourself! Don’t let people/friends tell you it’s stupid or weird (etc., etc…) to write a book. Keep pushing yourself, and in the end, you’ll be proud. 3) Don’t give up! If something happens, just try again and keep going! Don’t tell yourself it was stupid, just keep at it, and you’ll love yourself for doing it! 4) If you really love writing, you should do it! Just because your friends think it’s weird, if it’s your passion and you’re determined, do it! also, don’t get embarassed by your ideas! I’m sure they’re great and even LET people read them! i know when I’m typing and my mom and dad or any other family member walks into the computer room & I’m typing, i minimize it and get embarassed (which makes parental units suspicious, by the way)and finally, 5) Write it down! Whether you’re at a party or waiting for the bus, write down all the good ideas you come up with and keep them in a journal &/or sketch book.

i have some ideas about a hilarious/romantic, almost a Sex in the City type novel about the lives of my friends. Problem is: i have ideas but i have to arrange them. any ideas?

I actually came on here at first looking for some help, but i feel like i could give some advice. Sometimes listening to songs and looking back at memories helps ideas come to me. If you sit outside your house and watch what goes on around you, sometimes it can be inspiring. Think of it this way, if you were going to the library to read a book, what kind of book would you generally choose? Thinking like that can shed light on what road your book will take. Then once you find a genre, you start thinking about what you would like to write. Make sure to have people read it, because even though it seems embarrassing, it helps to get peoples opinion’s, nothing feels better than hearing people say “oh my god that was so good!” or “wow, i really liked that, are you going to continue?” And if you get a bad comment, take it as a learning experience, it will only help you. If you are serious about writing, and you make a book, you want it to do well with the public, and they are what make things happen, if the public doesn’t like it, you won’t go far, so always learn from other people’s opinions. A good way to get you warmed up to write a book, is to write a story where you are the main character. You can either write about things that happen in your life, or you can write about what you wish would happen in your life. Ex: Paige was the best singer at her school, infact people often stopped her in the halls pleading her to sing to them.
That is an example of something I might want to happen to me. Its fun to create your perfect life, or to write about what actually goes on in your life.
EX: I can’t take my mind off of Eric, we had so much in common throughout freshman year, but now…We both changed so much, it just seems like its never gonna work out.
Give your self more time to think and don’t give up if something doesn’t come to you.

yes, it does, thanks… I love watching outdoors… in fact, tomorrow I’m going kayaking… in the evening when the night birds are out
