Migraines, Writing and Fuzzy Thinking

by Anne Wayman on November 6th, 2007

654114_loud_noise.jpgI woke up this morning with the aura and tension in my head that means a migraine is coming on. Fortunately, even through I don’t have health insurance, I am now earning enough to be able to afford an expensive medicine that staves off the pain. I can’t tell you how grateful I am.

But, even though I’m painless, the migraine or something is still there, and it means my thinking is, well fuzzy. Maybe a better way to say it, is I can’t concentrate for more than a few minutes at a time. I was going to spend a good portion of the morning organizing and writing a chapter on the new ghostwriting chapter. It isn’t happening. I’m having trouble tracking forum posts more than a paragraph or two.

I’d go back to bed, but I’m not sleepy and I’ve got an appointment in a couple of hours I really want to keep.

So I’ll muddle through, like we do, knowing that later today, or, worse case, tomorrow my thinking will clear and I’ll be able to work on the chapter. Meanwhile, I’ll get some little stuff done.

Write well and often,
