Feed The Hungry; Build or Check Your Vocabulary
Word came from Mark Silver of Heart of Business about FreeRice.com.
Part of the World Food Program, the game is to define words… or, more exactly, choose the correct definition. For every correct word 20 grains of rice is donated to the WFP. Twenty grains doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up.
I’m going to play FreeRice instead of solitaire… and accomplish something at least.

How fun is this? You get to mess around and feel good about it too! :) I only got up to 39. Guess I better play more to increase my vocabulary!
Thanks Anne!

The growing popularity of the FreeRice site has been amazing to watch. I blogged about it less than a month ago (FreeRice is only about 2 1/2 months old), and at that time it was only 10 grains of rice per correct answer. I suspect they’ve had so much luck in marketing that they’ve been able to double that amount due to sponsorship. Very cool!
