Are You Good At Tag Lines? A Contest!
This morning, among other things, I said “… A Way With Words, billed with the rather horrid tag line of “public radio’s lively language show.” Little did I know how quickly Grant Barrett, co-host of the show, would respond. In truth, I didn’t expect him to respond at all. Here’s what he said:
I agree that the A Way with Words tag line leaves something to be desired. I came up with it in a split second when I was setting up our new site in a single day. I simply haven’t given it another thought until now.
We’d be happy to throw it out for rewrite to the community at The Golden Pencil.
If folks come up with a suggestion we like, we’d give them a link and a credit on our web site and in our email newsletter. (emphasis mine)
Thanks, in any case.

So there you go - email Grant directly. Be kind and put GP Tag Line in the subject line so he can sort entries from other stuff. The contest ends at midnight January 17, 2008. Grant gets to pick the winner, if any. And if there is a winner, he’ll post on his website and I’ll post here. Put on your thinking caps… this might even be fun ;)

A Way with Words radio show should have the following tag-lines:
1.The Electric show on the air waves.
2.The one of a kind radio show.
3.The radio show with Zing.
4.The Zaniest show on the radio waves.
5.The show which makes the News.
6.The Cream of all the radio shows.

I just want to head off a common idea: “cunning linguist” isn’t really going to work in our tag line. :)

lol… sigh… oh dear… well, we didn’t promise anyone would win… maybe this explains an extraordinary increase in page views around here?
