Are You Good At Tag Lines? A Contest!

by Anne Wayman on January 8th, 2008

holidaygiftbox.jpgThis morning, among other things, I said “… A Way With Words, billed with the rather horrid tag line of “public radio’s lively language show.” Little did I know how quickly Grant Barrett, co-host of the show, would respond. In truth, I didn’t expect him to respond at all. Here’s what he said:

I agree that the A Way with Words tag line leaves something to be desired. I came up with it in a split second when I was setting up our new site in a single day. I simply haven’t given it another thought until now.

We’d be happy to throw it out for rewrite to the community at The Golden Pencil.

If folks come up with a suggestion we like, we’d give them a link and a credit on our web site and in our email newsletter. (emphasis mine)

Thanks, in any case.

So there you go - email Grant directly. Be kind and put GP Tag Line in the subject line so he can sort entries from other stuff. The contest ends at midnight January 17, 2008. Grant gets to pick the winner, if any. And if there is a winner, he’ll post on his website and I’ll post here. Put on your thinking caps… this might even be fun ;)

Write well and often,
