Travel Days, New Projects, Waiting to Start
Business is good. I’ve recently signed two new contracts, recently enough so they haven’t actually started yet. I’m waiting for the initial payment on one and the other client is flying me to their city later today for a long day of meetings tomorrow. I’ve got about 3 hours before I need to leave for the airport; I’ve almost got my blogs done; the house is clean… in short, I don’t have a whole heck lot to do at the moment, and I hardly know how to behave!
Of course, this time next week I’ll be swamped. Such is the life of a freelancer. The truth is I took the smaller project because the bigger one hadn’t come in yet and I’ve learned not to wait for the big ones because often they don’t happen. This time two struck over two days so I’ve ended up with both. Fortunately the deadlines on each will let this work, provided I keep my head down and get it done.
Meanwhile, I’m sort of standing on one foot and then the other… I know! I need a couple of pairs of socks… I’ll go shopping ;)

Best wishes with the new projects, Anne! I know what you mean about waiting for a project to come through only to have it collapse before signing. I’d much rather handle a few smaller projects than deal with the bigger one, but when the big boys (and girls!) follow through, it usually is worth the wait.
