This Freelance Writer is Tired!
I just realized I’m tired. Maybe I’ve been busier this week than I thought, or maybe feeling more stress, or, or, or… who knows, exactly. But as I wait for a call from a client, I realize I’m tired!
You know what? After the client calls, or doesn’t (sometimes they don’t), I’m taking a nap. I might take the rest of the day off.
Given how much I’ve written this week, it’s possible I’m more drained than tired.
Whatever it is, I’m not going to fight it.

I got a writing gig from this site! Thanks, Amy! I know you’re tired but maybe knowing that you’ve helped this first-time novice wannabe freelance might cheer you up.
I live in Iowa where all the flooding is happening. Talk about tired! But my home is safe - I have been helping to sandbag and move stuff so I’m one of the lucky ones.
Go take a nap. : ) Thank you!!

Hi Kenn - I’ve replied to several of the writing gigs and finally just said to this wonderful guy, “You didn’t know it when you rolled out of bed this morning that this was your lucky day!” I told him I was trying to get my first job in the freelance world and even offered to take less than he was offering to prove myself and if it didn’t work out, we’d part ways. If he liked my writing, we’d go back to what he was offering. He replied that he was once a newbee, too, and was happy to give me a shot, PLUS he was going to stick with his original pay offer!!
Then the Iowa Flood of ‘08 hit and I haven’t been able to do much but plan on hitting it hard today and will send him my first submissions. I’m so excited. I wrote to him, told him about the flooding here and that I was going to be tied up for a week but would have something to him by this Tuesday.
He’s got no deadlines on this project and there are thousands of pages that he needs edited and rewritten. I plan on blowing his socks off. : )
Good luck!!
Chris
