What’s In It For You?
Am curious to find out why if there are a lot of freelance jobs around, you have time to “instruct” others how to. What’s in it for you? Some of my work is floating on the web, the latest on JPG Magazine … unfortunately, non paying. I won’t mind paying a fee for jobs, but wouldn’t need seminars on how to look for them. I’m 77 years old, published, and still struggling. There are just so many writers out there, some really quite good.

I ask myself why I do this often. I do get paid for this blog, but not nearly as much as many people think. I also get paid by Google each month through their adwords program. Between the two, it isn’t enough to pay my rent.
That said, this blog does drive a fair number of subscribers to my ezines and I do attempt to sell them some services and/or ebooks - sometimes it works.
Mostly, I do enjoy the community aspects of blogging… well, community may be too strong a word. But interaction with readers like you pleases me.
Another truth is that I don’t want many of the writing jobs that are advertised. Ghostwriting books for people seems to be my gig at the moment, and I like that. It leaves time to do blogging.
Does that more or less make sense?
You’ll find more Q&As on this blog here. Or you can ask your own… just be sure to put Q&A in the subject line… I get a ton of spam, so make it easy for me to spot. If I can answer your question I will.
Write well and often,
